Buhari urged the youths to vote regardless of ethnicity or religion.
President Buhari hosted selected young persons in entertainment, arts, media, and other fields to the breaking of the Ramadan fast at the Villa Thursday night.
Buhari expressed his excitement at the prospects of youths in the country, while giving assurance that his government will create a Nigeria that works for them and for all Nigerians.
The president, who only gave assent to the ‘Not Too Young To Run’ bill about a week ago, also urged the youths to get their Permanent Voter Cards to enable them vote for their candidate of choice in the 2019 general elections.
“I also reminded them of their power to vote candidates of their choice, which is one of the founding principles of democracy,” Buhari said.
“Your vote is your power, get your PVCs, vote for whoever you desire, regardless of ethnicity or religion. And encourage other people to vote as well.”
